City Council Wrap-up: May 20, 2021

Council denies Oncor rate increase 
At their May 20 meeting, the Council approved a resolution denying Oncor Electric’s request to increase distribution rates within the city.
The city is part of a steering committee that evaluates Oncor’s requests and determines what actions to take.  

City purchases right of way for road projects 
Council also voted to purchase several right of way tracts around town to continue road projects in the city. The purchases will allow for the continued work on the 24th Street expansion project and the North Pea Ridge Road expansion.  

Second quarter financial report 
The council heard the second quarter financial report. So far, the City has brought in 60% of its expected revenue and spent only 47% of its budget with 50% of the year complete.
