Entertainment Announcement for the 2017 Bloomin’ Temple Festival

Temple Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that Hip Hop musician and DJ, Biz Markie, will perform on the CEFCO stage at the 12th Annual Bloomin’ Temple Festival presented by H-E-B on Saturday, April 29th.

The legendary Biz Markie brings more than 30 years of solid hip hop experience and an overwhelming fan base that stretches from New York City to Europe. The Biz began his journey by beat boxing his way into the hearts of hip hop lovers and delivering humorous, witty rhymes that made him loveable and admired by music fans around the globe

Best known for his Top 10 hit song, Just A Friend, off the 1989 album, The Biz Never Sleeps, Marie DJs and performs in club and concert venues consistently booking over 175 shows a year. In 2008, Just A Friend made VH1’s list of 100 greatest hip hop songs of all time.

Biz Markie’s television credits include Nick Jr’s Yo Gabba Gabba doing Biz’s Beat of the Day, Sharknado II, and Spongebob Squarepants. Biz has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, as well as appeared in countless commercials.

The 2017 Bloomin’ Temple Festival presented by H-E-B will be held near E. Central Avenue and S. 4th Street in downtown Temple on Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th. The festival will feature all day entertainment, two musical stages, 21 bands featuring the acts in Hip Hop, Tejano, Red Dirt, and Country Music, a Kid’s Zone, carnival, vendors, food trucks & more!
