Temple residents can receive emergency notifications by registering with the CodeRED system.  CodeRED is an emergency notification service that allows emergency officials to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency notifications. Examples include evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports.  Only authorized officials have access to the CodeRED system.

Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number, additional phone numbers and email contacts can be entered as well.  All businesses should register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular or VoIP phone as their primary number.

The Central Texas Council of Governments contracted with Emergency Communications Network to license its CodeRED high-speed notification system effective December 1, 2014 for residents in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills and San Saba Counties.

To register for CodeRED, go to http://bit.ly/codered_ctcog  People needing help with registration can call 1-836-939-0911 or 254-770-2200.
