Temple Parks and Recreation will host a special Arbor Day celebration and commemorative tree planting ceremony at Tarver Elementary School (7949 Stonehollow in Temple), Friday, November 2nd at 10:00 a.m. The day’s program has been organized by the teachers and students of Tarver Elementary School and three trees will be planted on the school’s campus. “We are excited to again be celebrating Arbor Day this November here in Temple. This great program brings much needed attention to the importance of planting trees throughout our community,” said Val Roming, Parks Superintendent for the City of Temple Parks & Recreation Department. “We would also like to extend an invitation and hope the community can join us for the tree planting ceremony this Friday.”National Arbor Day is typically celebrated on the last Friday in April, however many states observe Arbor Day on different dates throughout the year based on the best tree planting time in their local areas.
