  4. Poison Prevention Pointers

    In recognition of National Poison Prevention month, join us for an educational seminar presented by the Baylor Scott & White Community Education Division. The focus is to raise awareness of the risks of being poisoned by household products, medicines, pesticides, plants, insects, food products and toxic fumes. Older adults especially, have an increased risk of medication errors, drug interactions and adverse effects. These risks can be reduced through education. A local health care education specialist will facilitate this session.

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

    March 14, 2018, 8:00 AM - March 16, 2018, 6:00 PM @ Register at Sammons Indoor Pool. Class will be held at the Temple High School Swim Center

    Gain the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, respond to, and care for aquatic and land emergencies until EMS can take over. This is a Blended Learning course, so register early to complete the online coursework before classes begin. Expect the online course to take 8 hours. Cost includes a Manual, Pocket Masks, and Hands-on Training/certification. You must register at Sammons Indoor Pool at least two weeks before class begins. Apply to work for the City of Temple and only pay $35 for your certification!
