The mission of the Street Services Division is to maintain the city's transportation infrastructure to the highest standard possible by providing for the public's safety and convenience. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of:
- Alleys
- City-owned parking lots
- Curbs and gutters
- Signage
- Street surfaces
- Street sweeping
- Tree trimming
The Traffic Signal Division is responsible for providing public safety and convenience by the installation, maintenance and repair of all traffic signals and school signals in the city limits of Temple.

OVERVIEW
The Drainage Division of the Street Department was developed in 1998 to address the City of Temple drainage concerns. The Drainage Division is responsible for the maintenance of stormwater drainage infrastructure, including creeks, concrete drainage flumes, and grassed detention ponds.
