Report A Crime Online
In order to comply with the social distancing requirements while protecting our citizens and officers, we are encouraging citizens to report non-emergency crimes online at templetx.gov/reportacrime.

Certain non-violent offenses can also be reported through our phone system by calling 254-298-5500.

We will continue to respond to emergency calls, felony offenses, and crimes in progress. We are committed to being visible in our community and available to assist our citizens. Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to the disaster orders.
Police Department
The Temple Police Department employs 193 dedicated professionals, 154 of which are sworn officers and 39 non-sworn employees. The department provides police services to those who live, work, and visit within the City of Temple, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Core Philosophy

The core philosophy of the department is to provide a safe and peaceful environment in the community through which the quality of life of all citizens may be improved.


The department has adopted the motto of "Integrity, Honor, and Dedication", as these terms best describe the character of the men and women who are the Temple Police Department.
