A little about me:

I love what I do! I feel very blessed to have such a great team and to also work with a truly great group of people at the City of Temple!

What we do matters so much. The City of Temple is such a gem and to be on the team that helps makes that gem really shine, is pretty great!

I am married to a fantastic husband (Matt) who is originally from England. We met in  Abilene, Texas while attending college. We have two AMAZING sons, Matthew and Callum!

What would you be doing if you went another direction in your career? Meteorology

When you are not working, what are you doing?
When I am not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my family. Usually we are having a nerf war or at a youth sporting event! I also enjoy "Amazon Priming" - gotta love that 'buy it now' button!

A little about me:

A few years ago, I started working with the City in the Public Works Department. This experience has given me a deep appreciation for how the City seeks to improve the quality of life for our citizens, one program at a time. I’m excited to work with such an amazing team in Marketing and Communications, and I look forward to being a part of the great things happening within the City of Temple.

A little about me:

I grew up in a small town outside of San Antonio and moved to West Texas to attend Texas Tech. I graduated with a degree in Agricultural Communications and started my marketing career in Lubbock as the Communications Director for Texas Peanuts! After eating my weight in peanuts, I switched to agency marketing and relocated to Austin. I knew I wanted to get back to client side marketing, as well as escape the horrific traffic of the city! So here I am, slowly making the transition into a slower paced life as a new Templite...Templonian...Templeton??

Why Marketing?
I love storytelling. I enjoy getting to dive into what makes an organization special and share that with everyone. I also love to sprinkle in a little humor into my stories to keep readers on their toes and make sure they are paying attention.
Favorite inspirational quote?
“To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first, and call whatever you hit the target.”

When you aren’t working, what are you doing?
I'm usually playing with my furbaby, Aggie - she's a Corgi, and I love her very much; or traveling across this great state of Texas.
  1. Jonathan Logue

    Jonathan Logue

    Communications Manager

A little about me:

I pretty much grew up right here in Central Texas and stayed close to home to attend the University of Texas-Austin. After graduating, I packed my bags and hit the road living in cities like Houston, Chicago, Nashville, Dallas, and back to Austin. Throughout my marketing and advertising career I've been lucky enough to work on some amazing brands, both client side and agency side. I've marketed all sorts of things from markers and pens, to power tools, sandwiches, candy and cupcakes. Government is just like marketing candy, right?

When you aren't working, what are you doing?
Eating. I love to eat. A LOT! Because I can't have my jaw wired shut, I have to go to the gym all the time. So you can usually find me there. I also like to do yard work and work on projects around my house. My home is located in the Historic District of Temple and was built in the 1930's, so something is usually broken!
Best Advice You've Been Given?
Keep your life simple. Sleep is important. It's okay to be selfish. Stop doing what doesn't make you happy. It is okay to tell people "no". You have one life to live, so live it well.

I have lived in Temple all of my life and have worked for the City of Temple for just over 20 years, first in the Parks & Recreation Department and now in Marketing & Communications.

Best Advice I Could Give Someone?
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

Favorite Inspirational Quote?
"There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky, and you ask "What if I fall?" Oh but my darling, what if you fly?" - Erin Hanson

Fun Fact Nobody Knows About Me?
I once rode my bicycle from San Antonio to Corpus Christi in the MS150. It was crazy hard, and my training partner quit halfway through, but I made it to the finish line!

When you aren't working what are you doing?
I love movies, TV shows, and books - YES, I am a reader. My favorite book is The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King. I countdown the days until fall each year so I can watch the Hallmark Christmas Movies. My long term plan is to live in one of those sleepy little towns where it snows and is Christmas every day.

A little about me:

I started out really wanting to save the world as an environmentalist, but ended up finding my real passion for graphic design during my second year in college. I've been designing since 2011 and started my professional career in Texas in 2014.

  1. Simmons

    Laurie Simmons

    Public Relations Manager

A little about me:

As the City of Temple's spokesperson, I am honored to work with local media on a daily basis, helping share information about important city programs as well as telling the stories of our amazing city employees. Before working in public relations, I was an Emmy-Award winning investigative reporter for different TV stations across the southeast. I graduated magna cum laude from American University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Journalism.

Why I love Temple?
I am proud to call Temple home! I moved to Central Texas after living in Hawaii, Virginia, Georgia and Florida (can you tell we are an Army family?) with my husband, our two kids and two dogs. We love the City of Temple's family-friendly environment, great schools and the proximity to Lake Belton.
Favorite Restaurant in Temple?
Pignetti's in Downtown. I studied abroad in Italy during college and their food reminds me of Rome!

When you aren’t working, what are you doing?
When I'm not at City Hall, you will find my family and I fishing on Lake Belton, or at one of Temple's award-winning parks and trails enjoying the amazing playgrounds and outdoor spaces.
