Appearance in Court

Coming to Court

  • Once a ticket or citation is issued, there is a duty to come to court on-time. There is also a duty to keep the address correct directly with the court.
  • The court date is originally on the ticket.  A person who does not appear or respond to the charge by the court date may be issued warrants and additional charges may be filed and fees added.
  • Persons appearing in court should be ready to provide identification.  Driver’s License is the preferred form of identification, along with any government issued I.D.
  • Persons who are under age 17 must appear in court with a parent or legal guardian. Persons accused of an alcohol related offense or family violence must also appear.

Please Note: You may call for information.  Phone calls do not mean you have appeared or resolved your case.
